Clarification: Trading/Acquiring Draft Picks

Just so you all know, the interpretation behind trading draft picks is that you are able to acquire extra selections to expand your roster to the maximum of 20 in the following year's replacement draft.

That being said, everyone is to drop their roster size to 12 players by August 31, 2009. If you wish to drop to less than 12, you are given a draft pick for every player you wish to replace. I.e. if you want to only keep 8 players, you will be given 4 extra draft picks that will be used at the end of the 5 replacement rounds of drafting.

If you acquire a draft pick in a trade, you are effectively able to draft another player onto your roster.

Example: Nathan B-urk-O has acquired 3 extra 4th round draft picks. This means, in addition to his 5 draft picks he will be able to draft 8 players on top of his 12. That hits his roster maximum of 20 players.

That being said, the GM's that have traded their picks to Nathan B-urk-O are able to draft one less roster spot, meaning they can only hit a roster size of 16 (12 keepers, 5 picks less 1 pick traded)
